30 Gunmen attacks police station in Kano...


Police officers Friday night successfully repelled attack by suspected terrorists on Minjibir Divisional office, 32km east of Kano city.
Security sources told Vanguard that the assailants numbering over 30 stormed the station at about 8.30pm  on motorcycles and tricycles and launched an offensive on the station.
The source stated that the officers who appeared  responded gallantly in the ensuing firefight that lasted 45 minutes as the  windscreen of police vehicles parked at the station and windows adorning the building  were shattered.
Vanguard gathered that although  there were no casualty on the part of police,  two fleeing suspects were arrested.
Confirming the incident,,the  Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Kpotun Idris said “the gallant officers on duty successfully repelled the attack”… ”two fleeing suspected were arrested by my men during the attack”, adding that “we have commenced an inquiry into the motives of the attack”
The CP disclosed that ” there is no fatality nor injury on our side aside the windscreen of our vehicle and windows that was shattered during the gun duel”, stressing that the police division is intact.
The police enjoin residents to report any suspicious element with their vicinity, adding that “we are also trailing all those that escaped with bullet wound.”
