Genevieve Nnaji's Scenes Removed From Chimamanda's Half of a Yellow Sun Film?

Genevieve Nnaji's part in the movie made out  of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s novel “Half of a Yellow Sun” is said to have been cut out from the already finished movie, because her character wasn't important to the story and was dragging the storyline unnecessarily. 
Genevieve's scenes are  not the only ones cut off from the movie, a few other characters from the book didn't appear in the movie.
The film, which tells the story of the Nigerian civil war, features Chiwetel Ejiofor, Dominic Cooper, Anika Noni Rose and Thandie Newton. Was Produced by Andrea Calderwood and directed by Biyi Bandele
